Wild life we liked

Besides being an active place to walk around, shop for unique things and eat well the city has a lot to offer.  In walking by the city park and beach we noticed a group setting up at on of the pavilions with microphones and amps.  Every day, the pavilion is used by some group for public dancing or karaoke. This day was set aside for the mentally challenged members of the community.  The city has a large recreation complex, swings all along the water and lots of sand volleyball courts.  It's easy to see why this is a popular spot.  All along the shore we saw so many birds hunting and hanging out.  They are so used to people we didn't seem to phase them as we approached to take their picture.  Or their just big photo hogs.
This is the first juvenile blue heron we've ever seen.  David was hoping he hadn't been kicked out too soon.

Herons always look so regal.  The wind was really ruffling this guys eyebrows.

We never saw this bird leave the perch on the seawall.  He was intently watching the other birds out swimming and diving around just off the wall.  Maybe he was waiting for his supper to be delivered.

This white heron was strutting up and down the wall like a sentry on duty.
