Bits of Whimsy from Gulfport

Along the roads, in the parks in the yards and patios, it is obviously an artist's hangout.  These are just a few of the pieces we enjoyed seeing.
Most of the gift\curio shops were decorated.

The apartment buildings get in on the mural act as well.

Bright colors and lots of gingerbread make this modern house look vintage Florida.

So much to look at in this place.  They didn't open until dinner so we missed out or seeing the inside too.

This is the tin man complete with a heart. I wasn't able to get a good closeup of the piece but he is made entirely of cast off tools and parts of engines, motors etc.  Very interesting just to try and identify all his parts.

The queen stands by to take on the opposing team.  She is covered in thousands of pieces of tiny mosaic tiles.  I can't imagine the time required and patience.

Her knight stands nearby to protect his queen.

This is a beautiful woman rooted to the soil.  The reverse side of the piece is a shapely derriere topped by the flower.  All done is mosaic tiles as well.
