Fort Myers Beach

This is a hopping place full of tourists.  It is a combination of snowbirds and people here for a weeks escape from colder climates.  The area is crowded with pleasure boats such as us and working fishing boats and charter boats.  The water is shallow so the passages are narrow and people seem very respectful of other's right-of-way.  The town center is totally tourist cliche but I suppose that is what tourists come for.  If you expect pastel buildings, you get that!  We mostly wanted solid ground and a drink and easily found both.
We had to slowly navigate around this sandbar.  The channel is on one side and the mooring field is on the other.

Fishing boats line one side of this narrow channel, the sand bar the other.

Low tide gives the pelicans a place to perch.

The mooring field is fairly large with about 70 balls.  Showers and laundry are included in the fee.  Most important you know your anchor won't drag and your neighbor won't bump into you.

Good day to not be driving.  I bet it is really bad on holiday weekends or Spring Break.

Even the lawn art is beachy!

Colorful shops and offices.

Town center.
