The Bimini We didn't know existed

Over the years we've seen advertising for vacationing on Bimini but never really understood what they were talking about.  On this end of the island it is all locals with some bare-bones marinas and relatively small sailboats.  On the north end however, we discovered another world, basically Florida annex.  There is a casino, Grand Hilton hotel and a Florida style housing development.  From what we see, none of the money stays on Bimini which seems sad but somebody is making a lot of money.
We couldn't figure out where all these people were coming from but were
told about the cruise ships that bring the tourists in and then come back and pick them up.
They never actually see Bimini from their hotel unless they get out of the compound.

The casino. Last time we were in the Bahamas it was illegal for Bahamians
to gamble at the casinos.  They can only work in them.

This fast ferry boat gets the folks staying at the resort on south Bimini to the casino.

This Hilton is big and modern.  From the groups we saw on the balconies,
it is a very popular Spring Break destination.

All the houses fronted either the small bay or the dug channel.

No small boats in this marina.  I checked a website and their price-per-foot
cost is about 6 times what we're paying.

This is a very long and deep channel that has been made so the huge
vessels can make it down to the marina.  It is also the seaplane runway.
