Space Coast

Technically the Space Coast stretches all along the north and south of Cape Canaveral but Titusville and Cocoa/Merrit Island (remember I Dream of Jennie?) seem to dominate the tourist destinations for visiting the area.  We went on to Titusville since Cocoa didn't have a convenient way to get to shore for anyone anchoring out and no mooring field.  The marina here offered both plus nice showers and laundry facilities.  We rented a car for the day and toured Kennedy Space Center.  In our minds, it beats any cruise ship or theme park by a huge margin.  The others only deal in the unreal but KSC was all reality and bright hopes for the future.  We spent 9 hours there and it really wasn't enough but we put a good dent in seeing what was available.  It was extra special because the previous evening, we witnessed the successful launch of the Space X rocket to deploy a commercial satellite.  Front row seats from the front of our boat.  Life is more than good, it's spectacular on days like these!
This boat named Better Call Saul, had this on the side of the boat.  We are big
fans of the TV series and found it amazing that this couple from England were
so dedicated to the show that they named their boat after it and made a replica of
the NM license plate on the main character's car.  Now that's dedication!

BLASTOFF

Just a few seconds after launch you can barely see the rocket but the trailing smoke is clear.

The bridge was lined with cars and people who stopped to watch the launch.  All along
both shores people were gathered to witness history.  The cheers could be heard from all quarters.

Our viewing area.  These chairs were a great investment. Lightweight, easy to
set up and take down, pack into a small spot and they're comfortable.
