The Experimental Aircraft Association has it's southern most chapter at the Marathon airport. Always a fun spot to visit for the history and innovations rolling out in the aircraft world. This visit held a special treat. Sulphur Springs, TX is near and dear to our hearts for a lot of reasons, not least of which was the birth of our first child, Mary. Anyway, there is now a small, fabric covered airplane being manufactured there. The owner chatted with us for a while and talked about the plane and the town. Great afternoon.
This old fire engine is well cared for.
The inside of the museum is chock full of memorabilia from
all eras of flying.
The plane built in Sulphur Springs.
Another view.
David enjoyed looking at the engines.
An experimental aircraft of one of the chapter's members.
What a beautiful prop on the radial engine driven aircraft.
A German Fokker was in there too.
A well kept DC3
