Last of Eleuthera

The weather forecast gave us a 72 hour window for crossing back to the U.S.  It was earlier than we had planned but the next 2 weeks had a prediction of more strong winds from the wrong direction and we had frankly had enough of hunkering down in one hidey-hole after another.  We didn't make the Abacos but they'll be there next time.  This wasn't the Bahamian trip we had planned but still worth the effort. That's the purpose of a plan, something to post the changes to!
Back in Rock Sound, we spent our last day doing laundry and exploring a bit more.
This is a famous tourist destination and was spectacular.  It was a large, deep sink
in the limestone.

Other blue holes we have visited have been small compared to this one.
It was at least a quarter mile across and purportedly 1,000 feet deep.

These fish come up to the edge of the walkway looking for handouts.  The
color and variety was amazing for a supposedly closed water system.

From Rock Sound, we made our way back up to Hatchet Bay.
The silos reminded us of cows out for a walk.

The coast line and water, never got tired of looking at them.

This poor little critter caught a ride back with our laundry.  He jumped off my
hand and we haven't seen him since.

From Hatchet back to Royal.  The good spots were taken so not such a
calm night at anchorage this time.

We were less stressed since we had a snail trail to follow on our way out from
Royal Island We had a chance to look at something beside water depth and
coral heads and saw this on the outside of the island.  I guess this is way
the dock always had caretaker boats there.  We hear the development is back on the market.
