Glass Window on a Calm DayI

We sailed from Spanish Wells over to the main island of Eleuthera.  We made a short stop at a unique land feature called the Glass Window.  It used to be a natural bridge with the deep blue of the Atlantic on one side and the crystal clear aquas of the bight of Eleuthera on the other.  A dramatic difference.  The original bridge was washed away in a hurricane and has been replaced by a man-made one.  The power of the waves, unchecked by any land mass past the Canary Islands, is evident all along the shore.  One feature near the bridge was the Queen's Bath.  This was a hollowed out space that fills with water based on the tides and height of the waves.  We visited on our way down to Hatchet Bay in relative calm then again the day we rented a car when the wind was up considerably.  What a difference.  We didn't have time to revisit the QB but I'm sure it was amazing as well.  If I ever have more than a 2G signal, I'll post some amazing video.
Blue Moon on a calm sea

I never get tired of seeing all the shades of blue.

The Bight side of the bridge.

The "new" bridge as we approach our anchorage.

Looking down from the bridge

Water surging on the Atlantic side

I tried to set a comparison of the blues from the two sides but didn't have enough
elevation to do it justice.

These very large boulders were tossed up several hundred feet by a hurricane.

Natural bridge over a gully we found while hiking around.

More eddies around the bridge on the Atlantic side.

The Queen's Highway.  This is the largest road on Eleuthera running
about 90 miles from the north end to the south.

You can see the remains of piling (brown dots) of previous bridges.
