Hiccup in the Plan

Well, things have not gone as we have planned this entire trip and once again, there has been a monkey wrench thrown in the works.  On Saturday morning, we were getting ourselves and boat ready for a sail out to the Dry Tortugas with a subsequent trip to the St. Pete area then Tarpon Springs before we head back to the panhandle and our alternate reality.  That was the plan but our reality became a call to 911 and a trip to the local hospital when David became very ill. The wonderful folks on their trip were helpful in getting him off the boat and waited while I called the ambulance.  The dockmaster made sure the ambulance crew found us quickly and they all kept an eye on the boat while we were gone.  Long story short, he has a severe case of vertigo.  Not sure what exactly the cause but we're now back on the boat trying a slue of remedies and drugs are keeping him comfortable until is resolves itself.  We will get the boat home eventually but no plans yet for how.  We are both so grateful this didn't happen while we were in the middle of open water or away from medical care.  Just another change to the plans.
