Laundry Day on the Boat

As mentioned earlier, doing laundry ashore is not always available or affordable.  I bought this handy little machine several years ago at a Seven Seas Cruising Association gam.  I usually prefer to machine wash/dry but this is a great alternative.  To do a weeks worth of clothes takes 6 rounds of wash, rinse and hanging up. I found that the clips that you put on plastic clothes hangers fit our lifelines perfectly and never rust or leave marks on the clothes.  Time consuming but a great upper body workout cranking.
I did the wash in the cockpit since it had water available from the shower.  It
is behind panel n the coaming.  It only takes a little soap to do the job.  I crank about 50
times then let is soak for a while then crank some more and let is sit some more.  Empty, rinse and
repeat, a lot!

When you run out of space on the lifelines you move indoors.  This is a simple camping
clothesline that clips to the dog-down handles on the port lights.

Not a glamorous way to work on a tan but.....

All clean and ready to wear.
