This and That

One interesting place we passed was Parris Island.  Some Marines also refer to it as Paradise Island in a twisted bit of irony.  This is the home of Marine Boot Camp and I have it on good authority that the training is anything but Paradise.  One of my brothers is a Marine and he is loyal to the Corp always.  Another bit of whimsy was David's flirtation with growing a beard.  He doesn't like having to use the sunscreen on his face so he tried covering it with hair.  The experiment didn't really pan out but I have photographic proof that it did exist.

At a distance we wondered why the Marines were growing a giant flower.

Up close we could see it was a fan of some sort.  Not sure what the
purpose of the fan is but assume it aids in training.

Obsession is a beautiful Catalina 42 and is up for sale but they
are hoping it sells at the end of the trip not before.
